How do you revive a cancelled show is a topic that many producers have different answers to in different ways, with some shows going through a full-on reboots with a brand new set of actors, and others opting to simply keep the story that was originally being told. In the case of the cult old show Clone High Clone High, it seems like the creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s approach is a literal continuation. In the words of Lord the show’s coming returning to HBO Max is “really Season 2 of the series.”
The forthcoming Apple TV+ series The Afterparty The Afterparty, which was created by Miller Lord and Miller, is initially and foremost a comedy/mystery show However, it does incorporate various other genres, such as animation. This is the way Lord Miller and Lord Miller came up with a plan to explain the show to the Consequence how they’ll approach the possibility of a revival of their TV show.
In a press conference held recently discussing the Afterparty, Miller and Lord confirmed that the animated scenes for the show were created by ShadowMachine who’s other projects include Robot Chicken, BoJack Horseman, Final Space and many more.
ShadowMachine will also handle all animations for Clone High revival ShadowMachine will also be handling the animation for the Clone High revival, which Lord claims will be a direct continuation with the first MTV show: “It’s really Season 2 of the series, and so we tried our best to recall how we made it happen twenty years ago, hopefully using the most advanced tools, and definitely perhaps a bit more ambitious.”
Clone The High was made in the hands of Lord, Miller, and Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, was produced during the time of the WB teens’ drama trend in 2002. It it aired for a single year on MTV. Through the decades, it has built up fans who are enthralled due to its irreverent concept and hilarious mockery of the popular teens’ drama craze. the adolescent versions of Abe Lincoln (Will Forte), Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan), John F. Kennedy (Miller), Gandhi (Michael McDonald), Cleopatra (Christa Miller) and more face the afflictions of growing up.
The revival is just one of the many tasks Lord and Miller are currently managing and are very excited about. “It’s been an absolute blast to be back in the recording studio, and to be a part of the characters and consider what stories we can tell , and how high school has evolved significantly since the show first film was released,” Miller says. “There’s plenty of enjoyable space for these stories.”
HBO Max ordered two seasons of the revival last year. The show is set to begin in 2022. The original show (or should be more precise, our original season) is currently streaming via Paramount+.
