UFC legendary Conor McGregor is in good health after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Friday.
A 34 year old UFC fighter posted footage from the scene on his Instagram account following the incident when his bicycle was hit by a car on the road.
McGregor revealed to his followers of 46 million his explanation of how the motorist who ran into McGregor was by “a Sun trap” in the roadway. “The driver was blind and didn’t know I was there,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
According to the athlete the car drove “full speed through” his vehicle while he was driving on an unassuming rural road that runs through Ireland.
“Thank you God that it wasn’t my moment,” the athlete wrote.
In a video of the moments after the crash, McGregor says “I could have died there,” as the driver apologizes as the video plays.
McGregor who seemed to have escaped the accident without serious injuries, claimed that his athletic ability helped him through the terrifying moment. “Thank for your judo and wrestling as well,” he wrote, noting the fact that “having the awareness to be aware of impact” following the incident was the thing that “saved” his life.

McGregor acknowledged the driver’s kindness for stopping to check for him during the encounter and shared footage of the scene which included his beanie lying placed on the floor.
Following the incident the driver of the vehicle was the one who informed McGregor his name was Nick and apologized several times to McGregor. The driver apologized several times to MMA fighter, and then drove McGregor home, as did his bicycle that was damaged.
“All good, man. All right,” said McGregor, who recorded his chat with Nick during the drive to home.
The incident happened one year since McGregor was detained in Ireland for alleged reckless driving violations. McGregor was detained and stopped in the city of Dublin, The Irish Independent reported in the course of driving the Bentley Continental GT.
The spokesperson for McGregor Karen Kessler told ESPN in an interview in a statement that “Mr. McGregor was driving to the gym when his vehicle was stopped by Irish police] over alleged violation of traffic laws. He was able to pass the alcohol and drug tests that were administered at the station.”
McGregor -known to be one of the most prominent athletes in the UFC has revealed that he would retire from mixed martial art in the year 2019. He will be making his return in the year 2020.
