The CUET exam for the year 2023 will be conducted between 21 May to 31 May. The CUET exam pattern 2023 has been released by NTA (National testing agency). UGC has announced that the CUET 2023 exam pattern will be the same as the previous year’s CUET exam pattern although there can be some small changes to the pattern. According to CUET exam pattern the exam has a duration of three hours and will be conducted in online Computer based mode. The medium of the CUET exam question paper will be English and the languages preferred by the students. The exam is divided in three sections which will carry Multiple choice questions and there will also be minus marking for the incorrect answers.
CUET exam pattern 2023:
CUET question paper 2023 will consist of Section 1 which has two sub sections Section 1A and Section 1B, Section 2 and Section 3. Section 1A will be compulsory and will be in 13 different languages. Students will be able to choose from these languages. Section 1B will be offered as a choice to the candidates.

For Section IA (2022)
The languages offered in the previous year question paper according to the CUET pattern were-Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Odia, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu, English and Hindi.
For Section IB (2022)
The languages offered for the section IB in the previous year question paper were Spanish, German, French, Italian, Nepali, Persian, Sindihi, Arabic, Konkani, Kashmiri, Dogri, Bodo, Santhali, Manipuri, Maithili, Japanese, Tibetan, Chinese and Russian.

Students will be able to choose a maximum of 3 languages together from Section IA and Section IB. The candidate must select the third language that replaces the selection of the sixth domain specific subject. According to the CUET 2023 exam pattern the question paper will have Section I, Section II and Section III which will have Multiple Choice Questions. Marking scheme will be such that students will be awarded five marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
